UNIT 5 Classroom Management  5과의 학습내용 Learning Styles (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) Warmers (less than 10 mins) Clear Instructions (Keep it short, 1 step at a time) Choice (Learner-centered) Transition (Be clear about what's next, Smoothly move on to next stage) Flexibility (Make changes, Do what goes well, don't what doesn't) Grouping Students (Depending on the activity) Learner Training (Works for both learners and teacher) Teacher Talk Time 이 많아지면, 학생들이 만화에서 처럼 저런 반응을 보일거다..ㅋㅋㅋ 선생님의 많~~~~ 은 설명이 학생들의 귀에는 '와오와와와왕ㅇ와왕와와아ㅘ왕....와아아아와왕..' 로만 들릴거라니. 그야말로.. THE DREADED TTT 일것임! 이렇게 시각자료는 확실히 기억에 오래 남을 듯! The more teacher talk, the less students talk The less teacher talk, the more students use the language (= learn) 당연한 말이겠지만, 교육은 학습자 중심이 되어야 한다는 이론에 적극 동의한다. 그래서 수업 내용 중에 Learner - centered 에 관련된 내용이 나오면 더 집중해서 듣게 되는데, 사실 현장에서는 항상 그렇게 되기는 힘든 것이 현실인것을 감안해서 어떻게 그 차이를 줄여가가며 가장 효율적인 수업을 할 수 있을지 연구해야 할 것이다.  UNIT 6 ASSESSMENT  6과의 학습내용 Assessment Formative Assessment - Purpose : to observe student's progress to give immediate feed back (helping students setting goals) - Plan ahead, Students without knowing that they're being tested - Games, Exit slips, Q&A.. Summative Assessment - Purpose : to observe student's progress as in their final product - presentations, papers, test, quiz, final products, state/national exams, portfolio Designing a Test : very clear instructions, space for notes, relevant images, variety of questions types.. Error corrections = How to encourage your students - Don't interrupt for fluency - Do interrupt for accuracy 6과를 공부하면서, 나 또한 학생이었던 때 시험, 평가에 대해 호의적이지 않았기 때문에 학생들의 심리를 파악하는 것은 그리 어려운 일이 아닐거라 생각했지만, '평가'를 위해 섬세하게 접근하고 준비해야할 부분이 상당히 많다는 것을 배우게 된 유닛이었다. Be balanced! Be clear! Be conscious! Be gentle! 내가 앞으로 'Assessment' 할때 유념해야할 가치(?) 들이다. 잘 기억하자!!  UNIT 7 COURSE DESIGN AND LESSON PLANNING   7과의 학습내용 Course Design (Backward Design : work from end and back to start) PBL(Project Based Learning : similar to TBL-Task) Textbooks : amount of usage, skip, add, adapt is all your choice, even not use it! (Textbook / No textbook) Make sure to have the helpful guide for students (having their interests, involvement) Lesson Plan Contents (4 modalities, all learning styles, variety to keep student's engaging) Lesson Plan Formats ( Make it useful for your needs, modify what is unnecessary, practical use) Teaching Strategies : PPP (Presentation - Practice - Production) ARC (Authentic Restricted Clarification) TTT (Test - Teach - Test) Knowing students' Knowledge by fun activites, Tests are not really tests. 코스 디자인과 수업 계획 이번 유닛은 사실 나에게 도전의식, 의욕을 자극한 내용들이 많았다. 그러니까, 선생님은 단순히 영어 지식을 가르치는 전달자, 교사의 역할 뿐만 아니라 Unit 1,2의 내용에서처럼 Teacher's Role : Organizer, Counselor, 그리고 새롭게 Designer, Project Manager 의 역할도 해야한다는 것을 새삼스럽게 스스로에게 주문하게 된다. 얼마나 멋진가! 선생님의 역할은 이렇게 보이지 않는 곳에서 철저한 사전 준비와 연구, 노력이 뒷받침 되어야만 학생들과 충분한 교감을 이루는 교육자로서 현장에서 선한 영향력을 줄 수 있을 것이다. #테솔, #WVC, #수강후기, #UNIT1, #UNIT2, #장학생, #팀챌린지, #장학생12기, #열공 UNIT 8 TEACHING READING    8과의 학습내용 WHY are students READING Reading Strategy (Skimming, Scanning, Reading for details...) Intensive Reading vs. Extensive Reading (To get specific information, grammatical features, vocabulary vs. Fun, Fluency, level-appropriate) Authentic Reading vs. Created Reading (Real-world language, idioms, mazagines, longer vs. shorter, limited idioms, control over content) Vocabulary in Context (Reconginition, Denotation, Connotation, Collocation, Grammar, Relevant, Practice...) Dictionaries (Teach how to use it to improve ss' study skills, learning) 학생들을 어떻게 가르칠까? 이전에 나 자신이 어떻게 공부하면 좋을지 팁을 많이 얻게 된 유닛이었다. 주교재 안에서 생소한 단어나 개념들도 많이 나왔고, 부교재의 읽어야 할 양도 갈수록 많아지고 있다. 내가 가장 기억하고 싶은 것은 You have to read a lot in order to write better! 사실, 고백하자면 개인적으로 나에게도 writing 은 가장 도전적인 modality 이기 때문이다. 8과 까지 무사히 공부를 하고 있는데 다음과는 WRITING 이다. 그래도 이번 READING 에서 얻게된 팁이나 정보들이 있으니 한결 받아들이기가 수월할 것 같다. 화이팅!!! |
